The Victoria and Albert Museum in London has collected copies in plaster, electrotype and photography since its inception. Joining us to discuss the functions and fates of historic copy collections will be experts from Goldsmiths, University of London, Crawford Art Gallery, University of Glasgow, Rijksmuseum van Oudheden, Sir John Soane’s Museum, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and many more. On Thursday 17 and Friday 18 January 2019 the conference will discuss historic cast collections, and the future of reproductions in the digital age.
